Communication protocol for telecontrol technology, fully usable in the IEC 61131-3 programming system
Integrated DNP3 support in CODESYS
The DNP3 (Distributed Network Protocol) communication standard is used in telecontrol technology to exchange data between control systems and remote maintenance terminals. CODESYS DNP3 SL enables this communication in CODESYS applications for compatible control systems with a serial or Ethernet interface. A CODESYS-compatible PLC can therefore be configured and used as a remote maintenance terminal.

- If you integrate or use systems in telecontrol technology:
Use the CODESYS Control SoftPLC systems "CODESYS Control for Linux" or "CODESYS Control for Linux ARM". CODESYS DNP3 can be licensed as an additional option for these systems and can then be used immediately.
- If you manufacture programmable devices for telecontrol:
Implement the DNP3 runtime system component on your hardware. To do this, purchase the CODESYS Runtime Toolkit with CODESYS DNP3. Alternatively, you can enable the option of single licensing (SL) on your devices. This allows the users of your devices to license CODESYS DNP3 themselves for their application if required.
