Overview and Dates

The goal of this 3-day class is to familiarize the participant with CODESYS SoftMotion. The training targets device manufacturers who want to build motion framework libraries or support their customers in building motion applications.

Course Description

Subject Matter:

  • CODESYS SoftMotion configuration
  • PLCopen Part 1 Motion Control (Single Axis and Synchronized Motion)
  • CNC and G-Code processing
  • PLCopen Part 4 Coordinated Motion (Robotics)

Prerequisites:

  • General knowledge of industrial controls programming
  • Basic knowledge of CODESYS V3 (how to create and dowload projects and create simple visualizations)

Requirements and Pre-class Preparations:

  • PC with video camera, microphone and speakers (a headset is recommended)
  • Reliable high-speed internet
  • Second monitor
  • Download, install, and test the latest 64-bit version of CODESYS Development System (instructions to follow)
  • Download and install Zoom Client for Meetings

Course Content:

Throughout the training, theoretical parts are followed by practical exercises to facilitate knowledge transfer. Use cases are explored to demonstrate how the tool can be applied.
