Kempten/Germany, March 2020: Enhanced user interface and display of web visualizations - CODESYS Group provides the Industry 4.0 platform CODESYS Automation Server free of charge throughout the year.
More than 100,000 users worldwide work with the IEC 61131-3 system CODESYS and implement thousands of different applications. The current worldwide situation shows us how valuable it is to be able to manage control landscapes centrally. Rolling out new versions, ensuring security via automated backups - all this can be accomplished with the CODESYS Automation Server, without being on site.
In order to make a small contribution to the "social distancing" that is currently required, all CODESYS users can now work with our Industry 4.0 platform free of charge. The CODESYS Group is offering this service until the end of 2020.
At the same time, the web interface of the administration platform was comprehensively optimized based on user feedback. Among other things, the source and binary files of the controller programs, i.e. the projects and applications, are now clearly assigned in the interface. Managing and rolling out application updates has thus become even easier and more secure.
Also new: the possibility to display the web visualizations of connected controllers directly from the administration interface of the Industry 4.0 platform. For this purpose, the existing data communication to the server, secured by TLS, is used. Users no longer have to deal with creating their own secure infrastructure such as VPN tunnels to display CODESYS web visualizations in a remote browser.
